'What are Cornish boys to do.'
This Heritage lottery project dives into the untold story of the end of the Cornish mining industry and the protest movement to save in from the 1970's till 1990's.
This projects research was based on a folder of documents and photos left behind by Jeff Thorne who worked in mines in Cornwall, Scotland, Africa and Australia from 1969-1997. This incredible insight offers us a an insight into the little recognised era of 'the fight to save the Cornish yin mines.'
All new documents, testimonies and photos have been collected and deposited into the Kresen Kernow Cornish Archives. The project ended in an engaging arts exhibition at Geevor Mine in March-April 2024. A zine, online presentation will be a lasting legacy of this project.
