Our exhibition in October 2022 show cased the Afrofuturism digital art work made by Kelly Thorne and the research in the Cornish Archives Kresen Kernow. 

Impact: Open day 100 visitors, one month open to public, Presentation full 30 people.

You can book a presentation and training workshops with historian and artist Kelly Thorne on this fascinating topic of Black Cornish history. We have worked with many Cornish schools and continue to promote that the stories she uncovered be worked into the local curriculum. We can also send your school a resources pack.

We were at Truro's Cultural and Equality diversity event in 2022 in Lemon Quay, hosted by Black Voices Cornwall. Running a street art stall encouraging people to make art work promoting diversity. This was a great way to engage the community and show case what we do.  Impact: engaged 60 people in our art activities.

For this project we worked with a group of 10 young people and produced this fabulous street art mural in Redruth to celebrate Black history month 2022. Thanks to Warren's Bakery for the permission on the wall. 

In 2022 as part of Black history month and our exhibition at Kresen Kernow we ran a workshops in partnership with Care. They brought a group of 20 teenage Asylum Seekers for a presentation and exhibition viewing. We also showed them around the archives and explained research processes. It was a great way to make the young people feel welcome in Cornwall and show them our rich history of welcoming African Diaspora.
